Blackfalds RCMP provide policing service to a large geographical area surrounding the cities of Lacombe and Red Deer. The area stretches from Township Road 412 in the north, Highway 42 in the South, Range Road 240 in the east and Range Road 10 in the west. The jurisdiction encompasses the communities of Blackfalds, Tees, Clive, Joffre, Haynes, Gull Lake, Gasoline Alley, and Springbrook.

February 10th, 2026 to February 16th, 2026

NEWS

The Blackfalds RCMP Detachment received 119 calls for service during the week of January 27th, 2026, to February 2nd, 2026, these calls included 1 Arson to Motor Vehicle, 5 Assaults, 2 Breach of Peace, 3 Disturbing the Peace, 2 Frauds, 2 Harassing Communications, 5 Mischiefs, 4 Operation of Motor Vehicle while Impaired, 5 Thefts, and 18 Motor Vehicle Collisions.

February 10, 2026

  • One male was arrested and charged for Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Uttering Threats against a person in Red Deer County.
  • A call was received of an abandoned vehicle in the ditch in Red Deer County. Police attended and determined the vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was towed and the registered owner was notified that it had been recovered.

February 11, 2026

  • It was reported that two males were causing a disturbance outside of a pub in Blackfalds. Police attended and determined they were having a consensual fight.
  • A call was received that a male had attempted to get into a truck parked outside of a residence in Blackfalds. The alarm went off, so the male got into another vehicle and drove away.

February 12, 2026

One male was arrested and charged for Careless Use of a Firearm in Red Deer County. He was released on an Undertaking with conditions. The matter is under investigation.

Police attended the call of a disturbance at a residence in Lacombe County. The situation was mediated and one of the individuals was provided a ride to another location.

February 13, 2026

  • Multiple calls were received of a male laying on the ground near a highway in Lacombe County. Police attended and determined the male was not intoxicated or injured, but he had a warrant. He was arrested and released on an Appearance Notice.
  • A fraud was reported where a female had been told that her grandson was in jail, and she was asked to pay for the bail. A male attended her residence to pickup the money. The female then determined her grandson was not in jail. The matter is under investigation.

February 14, 2026

  • Police attended the call of suspicious people on the street and the complainant believed they were trying to break into his truck. He confronted them which caused a verbal dispute. Upon arrival the individuals had left the location.
  • It was reported that multiple food items had been shoplifted from a business in Gasoline Alley.

February 15, 2026

  • A call was received regarding a vehicle where the occupants were causing a disturbance in Lacombe County. Police attended and determined the passenger had conditions not to be in contact with the driver. She was arrested and charged for Failing to Comply with a Court Order and later released on an Undertaking. The driver also provided two breath samples which resulted in “Fail” readings. He was issued an IRS Suspension and the vehicle was towed.
  • It was reported that a truck had been vandalized while parked on the street outside of a residence in Blackfalds. The matter is unde investigation.

February 16, 2026

  • Police attended the call of a disturbance at a residence in Blackfalds. The situation was mediated and both individuals separated for the rest of the night.
  • Due to heavy snowfall, multiple motor vehicle collisions were reported from overnight.
